Merced Lao
Family Community, Inc., was established in
1981 as a non-profit organization. In the early 1980's, a
large and unexpected number of Southeast Asian refugee’s'
influx in the Central Valley of California. The missions
of MLFC are to help Asians and refugees in Merced County
mainstream social, cultural, educational, health,
economical, employment and self-sufficiency in the
America.
MISSION STATEMENT
…to encourage self-respect
and self-sufficiency for all ethnic groups in Merced County;
to maintain pride in cultural histories and to offer positive
support and hope for the future by leading the populace into
becoming well-informed, healthy, productive, self-sufficient,
and contributing members of our Central Valley community.
Merced Lao
Family Community, Inc. was established to serve the Southeast
Asian immigrant individuals and family groups in Merced
County. Through its programs, Merced Lao Family Community,
Inc. strives to assist this unique community in acquiring a
balance between traditional Southeast Asian culture and modern
American life.
The primary
focus of the Merced Lao Family Community, Inc. is to determine
and service all the special needs of the Southeast Asian
people residing in the Central Valley communities, so as to
lead this populace into becoming well-informed, healthy,
productive, self-sufficient, and contributing members of the
Central Valley community at large.

Family Community's Website. It is my honor to serve
our diverse community in Merced County.
As a president of MLFC, I want to thank all our Board of
Directors, Advisory Committee, PAC Members, Federal,
State, Local officials, ORR, funding grantors, sponsors,
donors, and members for your support and cooperation.
